Meet our researchers: Professor Linda Greensmith and MND
Based at the Graeme Watts Laboratory at UCL Institute of Neurology, Professor Linda Greensmith specialises in research for Motor Neurone disease (MND).
Investigating the cause, development and treatments for the neurological condition, Professor Greensmith latest results have demonstrated a new drug compound which may slow the progression of MND. The results have led to clinical trials in America, to see the impact of this particular gene involved.
MND has many different genes involved in the disease and Professor Greensmith continues to research others in order to find better treatments for people living with the condition.
Brain Research Trust funds research at the Graham Watts Laboratory, including Professor Greensmith’s work.
