Meet our researchers: Professor Ken Smith and Multiple Sclerosis
A past winner at the Medical Research Council (MRC) awards, Professor Ken Smith of UCL Institute of Neurology’s Department of Neuroinflammation and used funding to investigate new treatments for multiple sclerosis (MS).
Professor Smith’s aim for the funding was to develop therapies and a strategy to treat early lesions in multiple sclerosis. His team, which includes a Brain Research Trust funded PhD student, will research and develop a greater understanding of the role of blood plasma constituents in the condition.
Brain Research Trust has supported Professor Ken Smith and his laboratory through grants and funding. If you are a neuroscientist researching and have a grant proposal, please click through the following link.
